The Concept.
Tony Chu is a cop with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he's a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn't mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. It`s a dirty job, and Tony has to eat terrible things in the name of justice. And if that wasn`t bad enough, the government has figured out Tony Chu`s secret. They have plans for him… whether he likes it or not.

I have learned about this comic-book series from www.angryasianman.com. I have loyally bought every single volume book. I was disheartened to find out that this was the LAST one to be published. Still, I read it. And it was mind-blowing. Questions were answered, tears were shed, and the ending to the VERY LAST PAGE was jaw-dropping.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that it ended but I am completely satisfied by the series. I wish there were more Asian-American male main protagonists like Tony Chu.
Since I heard Steven Yeun is going to be voicing the animated television series, I wonder if they will STRICTLY follow the comics or deviate from it.
Anway, 5 out of 5 stars.
(For the record, I keep re-reading the ending because it was just THAT good!)
