On sale 1/27/10: CHEW #8!!

"The hype, as it turns out, was understated for a title that is offbeat, zany, unsettling, and disturbingly enjoyable."
--Comic Book Resources

"No genre can attempt to claim CHEW as one of their own, be it comedy, police drama or general comic craziness, because this series will forever exist in a class all its own. If you are not reading CHEW, you are not enjoying comics to their fullest extent."
--Comics Waiting Room.com

"Another awesomely depraved and utterly hilarious adventure"--IGN.com

"Far from bad, but I can't say it blew me out of the water, either."
--Newsarama.com

CHEW a NYT best seller?

Yessiree, much to the surprise of pretty much everybody on the face of the planet, CHEW: TASTER'S CHOICE hit the #7 spot on the New York Times best seller's list.

Not only that, but it garnered all sorts of end-of-the-year accolades and shout-outs on various best-off lists.

It was named IGN's "Best Indy Comic of 2009."

MTV Splash page picked it as "Best New Series of the Year."

Comic Book Resources named CHEW #4 on their "Top 100 of 2009"

We got shout-outs from places as far-ranging as Fangoria and NPR, and on the "Best of 2009 Meta-List," an aggregate of combined best of lists, we nabbed the #16 slot.

So, uh, things are going well.

Thanks for your support, everybody, and here's a look at what's coming up in the months and weeks ahead:

Chews 8, 9, 10 and 11

And the second TPB, "International Flavor," on sale April 14.

The people have spoken!

(from Wizard #218)

CHEW #6 came out last week, as did the first CHEW TPB, "Taster's Choice." Here's what some people are saying:

"Combining comedy, intrigue and action is a proven recipe for a decent law enforcement drama, but "Chew" sweetens the pot with the most original, if disgusting, twist a comic has cooked up in some time." --MTV Splash Page.com

"This book continues to find new ways to laugh in the face of all social mores while simultaneously developing one of the more compelling and twisted narratives to be found on comic stands today." --IGN.com

"The wacky concept draws you in and the fun stories and satire keep you entertained, but it’s the well-rounded characters that will keep us coming back again and again." --Mania.com

"“Chew” is a comic worth reading, one that I plan to read monthly now, and that’s a pretty great thing. If, like me, you avoided this book for whatever reason, go buy this issue and join me in hopping on the “Chew” bandwagon... better late than never, right?" --Comic Book Resources.com

"Layman and Guillory are in top form in CHEW #6, an issue which is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud and tell your friends about one of the funniest books on the market today." --Comics Waiting Room.com

"Bland." --Newsarama
